The British winter can be a little unforgiving at times, it can stay cold, wet and grey for months on end, it just doesn’t have the same happy go lucky feel that summer has. There is definitely something about the long summer days that seems to change people’s mindsets into a more positive one, Thoughts of spending time at the beaches and evening BBQs with friends or family seems to be the most common reasons, so what about the winter, how do you stay summer warm?
- Open those curtains
Sometimes there is some sunlight in the winter so, make the most of it, open your curtains and let the sun warm your home.
- Set the timers on your thermostats
If you are out of the house during the day, then you won’t want the heating on all day, nor will you want to wait when you get home, if you don’t have central hearing, then you could look for a gas boiler in Bristol and transform your home into a warm haven, you can set the times using a thermostat so your home will be nice and warm for you when you enter.
- Upgraded insulation
Your home should have a series of insulation materials both within cavities and in the loft, if you have one. You might be able to buy something more affective or add to the insulation you already have.
Initiative
Think logically, keep your windows closed, vents open, make sure your home is properly insulated and, wrap up warm if you need to.
